Rumus:

• (+) S + had + V3
• (-) S + had + not + V3
• (?) had + S + V3 ?

Fungsi:

Untuk menyatakan aktifitas atau kejadian yang telah komplit terjadi sebelum aktifitas lain terjadi dimasa lampau.
 
Contoh:

• My parents had already eaten when i got home.
• Rian had not left when you arrived.
• Had she slept when i knocked the door last night?
